Planning Center Services Volunteer Training

So, your church is using Planning Center Services to help schedule and plan their services and you want a quick tour of how to use it. Well, you’ve come to the right place. First off, we recommend downloading Planning Center Services for iOS or Android. This will allow you to manage your schedule and access your plans. It also allows worship teams to rehearse music on the go. If this is the first time you’re opening the Services app, you will be asked to log in. Go ahead and enter in your email and password. If you’ve forgotten your password or if you never created one in the first place click on this link and follow the instructions. Once your ministry leaders schedules you you will receive an email with the list of the dates, times, and positions you’re asked to serve. If you choose accept, you will be taken to the Services app to confirm. If you decline, you will be asked a reason before declining. Either way, your response will be saved. Once you log in you will be taken to the dashboard. This will show you pending plans that need a response followed by your confirmed plans. You can respond to your pending request at any time by clicking accept or decline. To see specific times tap the plan, go into the Times section, and see what days and times you’re needed. To get to the menu, you may choose this icon or just swipe right. The menu will show you if you have any messages, your current schedule, as well as any blockout dates that you’ve entered. Now, let’s update your profile. In the menu tap on your name and then select my profile. Let’s start by adding a profile picture. First tap the grey picture. You can choose a picture from your photo library or use your camera to take it right then and there. You can update your personal information by selecting contact info and tapping edit on the top right. Make sure your email is correct and then add your phone number Once you’re done just tap on save. To subscribe to your serving calendar select the calendar link button to see your scheduled plans in your main calendar app. Now let’s say I just booked a vacation and I want to block out the dates I’m going to be gone. I will just select blockout on the bottom left choose the time frame I’ll be gone give a reason and hit the check mark to save. If your ministry leader tries to schedule you on those dates, they will be notified. If you have questions about your schedule, go ahead and contact your ministry leader.
